A solemn and meaningful evening at St Abdisho’s Cathedral, standing with Victoria’s Assyrian community to commemorate Assyrian Martyrs Day.

It was an honour to join Iwan Walters MP, Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, Basem Abdo MP and Cr John Haddad as we remembered those who lost their lives and paid tribute to the strength and resilience of the Assyrian people.

My sincere thanks to His Grace Mar Benyamin Elya and the Assyrian Church of the East – Diocese of Victoria and New Zealand for bringing the community together for this important occasion.
