Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Erbil

It was a privilege to host His Excellency Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Erbil, alongside the Member for Greenvale, Iwan Walters MP.

Having had the honour of meeting Archbishop Warda in Erbil earlier this year and witnessing firsthand the remarkable impact of his work, it was especially meaningful to welcome him once again—this time to the Parliament of Victoria.

Archbishop Warda is widely respected for his tireless commitment to religious freedom, interfaith dialogue, and his service to communities through education and healthcare.

His visit was a special occasion for our Parliament and a moment of pride for Victoria’s vibrant Chaldean community.
