I’m proud that the Corrections Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 passed the Legislative Council last sitting week. 

This Bill strengthens protections for the dedicated staff working in our Corrections system by making it clear that prisoners who assault and injure staff will face additional prison time. 

Our priority is ensuring Corrections staff have the tools, training and powers they need to stay safe and continue doing their vital work.
