EarthSure Soil Wash Facility

Victoria’s circular economy is transforming the way we manage contaminated soil and recover valuable resources.

The Victorian Government’s $1.16 million investment in the Earthsure soil wash facility—a joint venture between Veolia and Ventia—will enable the processing of up to 160,000 tonnes of Category C contaminated soil each year, with 98 per cent converted into reusable aggregates and sands for construction and infrastructure projects.

By diverting materials from landfill and reducing pressure on quarry resources, the facility is helping to create jobs, support sustainable development and deliver cost-effective solutions for builders and developers.

This is a practical example of circular economy infrastructure in action, turning waste into valuable resources while supporting Victoria’s environmental and economic goals.
