This morning, I joined Premier Jacinta Allan and Police Minister Anthony Carbines MP at Western Plains Correctional Centre to support our government’s commitment to tough bail laws. 

As part of the Budget, we’re investing $727 million to expand prison capacity, create over 700 new jobs, and enhance community safety across Victoria. 

We’re also taking a strong stance against assaults on Corrections staff — introducing new laws that make it clear: assault a staff member, face additional prison time.
