2nd Regulatory Reform Conference

I was pleased to address the 2nd Victorian Regulatory Reform Conference, bringing together regulators from across Victoria to discuss how we can continue improving our regulatory system.

Effective regulation plays an important role in protecting Victorians, maintaining strong standards and building public confidence.

At the same time, our regulatory system should support legitimate businesses to grow, invest and create jobs.

That is the balance we are focused on striking – maintaining the protections Victorians expect while cutting unnecessary red tape, making compliance simpler and directing more time and investment towards productive work.

By working closely with regulators, industry and the community, we can build a regulatory system that is effective, efficient and supports a strong Victorian economy.
