Bastille Day is a perfect time to celebrate the enduring friendship between France and Victoria — a relationship grounded in shared values, vibrant cultural exchange, and deep mutual respect. 

I was honoured to join colleagues for the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of France, alongside French Ambassador H.E. Pierre-André Imbert and Consul General Paule Ignatio, as we recognised the strong ties that unite our communities through culture, cuisine, diplomacy — and shared celebration. 

A special congratulations to Kate Reid and Annie Smithers on being awarded the Order of Agricultural Merit for their outstanding contributions to French gastronomy in Australia.
