State Library Station is now open in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, delivering a major new interchange with Melbourne Central and making it easier for passengers to move between City Loop services and the Metro Tunnel.

The station features multiple entrances, improving access to key destinations including the State Library, RMIT University and surrounding precincts, while helping to ease congestion across the city.

As part of the project, new and upgraded public spaces have been delivered, with more room for pedestrians, additional greenery and improved streetscapes enhancing the area.

State Library Station also showcases world-class artwork as part of the Metro Tunnel’s Creative Program, creating a unique and welcoming environment for passengers.

Now open as part of the Metro Tunnel, the station is helping transform the way people travel across Melbourne — increasing capacity and delivering more frequent and reliable services across the network.
