Town Hall Station is now open beneath Swanston Street in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, forming a key part of the Metro Tunnel and delivering a direct connection with Flinders Street Station.

The station features multiple entrances, improving access between City Square, Flinders Street, Federation Square and surrounding laneways, making it easier for passengers to move through the CBD.

City Square has been returned to the community as an accessible public space, with new pedestrian connections and improved streetscapes enhancing the area.

As part of the Metro Tunnel, Town Hall Station is helping transform the way people travel across Melbourne — creating a new end-to-end rail line through the CBD, increasing capacity and delivering more frequent and reliable services.
