25 March 2026 | 1 min read

The Northern Hospital Redevelopment in Epping is a major Victorian Government health infrastructure project delivering a significant expansion of services to Melbourne’s rapidly growing northern suburbs. Backed by an investment of approximately $813 million, the project is being delivered in two stages and is currently under construction. Stage one, a new four-storey Ambulatory Care Centre providing outpatient, clinical and administrative services, is on track for completion in mid-2026, while stage two will deliver a new emergency department and inpatient tower, with overall completion expected by 2029.

Once complete, the redevelopment will substantially increase hospital capacity, including nearly 200 treatment spaces and the ability to treat an additional 30,000 emergency patients each year, ensuring improved access to healthcare for local communities.
