InsideOut Program - RMIT

Access to education can be life-changing — and for many people in custody, it can be the key to building a crime-free, positive future.
During a recent visit to Loddon Prison, I had the chance to meet with students and facilitators involved in the InsideOut program — a powerful initiative led by RMIT University that’s redefining how we approach learning in the justice system.
The program brings together ‘outside’ students studying justice and criminology with people in custody, offering a unique space to blend academic knowledge with lived experience. This collaborative approach encourages connection, mutual understanding, and real-world insight.
Congratulations to Associate Professor Dr Marietta Martinovic on being awarded the Asia Pacific Triple E Award for Impactful Collaboration of the Year in recognition of her leadership on the InsideOut program.
