Justice Reform: Strengthening Accountability for Child Abuse

I was proud to secure the passage of the Justice Legislation Amendment (Vicarious Liability for Child Abuse) Bill 2025 in the Legislative Council. 

This important reform responds to the Bird v DP, restoring access to justice for victim-survivors of historical child abuse who may otherwise have been left without legal recourse. 

Victim-survivors deserve a system that listens, responds, and stands with them. This legislation reinforces that commitment—ensuring accountability and strengthening protections for those seeking justice.
